Book Studies
Book Studies
It is the responsibility of every Christian to continually grow in their faith. This can be accomplished by reading the Bible, prayer, attending Sunday School and church services, and by attending book studies.
Book Studies have been offered at Morrow First since the appointment of Rev. Dr. Ed Judy, who became the Senior Pastor in 2007. The studies are held three times a year: during Lent, the Summer Study, and again at Advent. Adam Hamilton, the pastor of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas, is a favorite author. His studies run 4-6 weeks and are accompanied by a video for further explanation. Rev. Hamilton has visited many of the sites in the Holy Land. These trips are on the video and make the viewer feel as if they are there – visiting places where Jesus, Paul and others walked.
Our Book Studies are held on Wednesday mornings at 10:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Participants purchase the book to be discussed and are given questions in advance each week about the reading material. These questions are discussed in class and the video is watched as well. The sessions run approximately 1.5 hours.
Book Studies are led by two members of the church who serve as Liturgists at Morrow First and are actively involved in many aspects of the church life.
